They Are Just Colors, Aren’t They?

Hello everyone! This is Clonez, administrator of skydays147.wordpress.com. The sports party has returned once again to Club Penguin. If you do not remember, in November 2007, there was a poll on which party penguins would like to see come back. The choices had been Western, Sports, or Pirate. The battle between Western and Sports went on for days, and it was very close to a tie, if you do not remember. Well, it was a great idea that everyone had chosen western, because this party would have never happened if Sports Theme had won. Also, it fits perfectly in August because of the Summer Olympics! What better way to get into the mood for sports. I haven’t heard that many complaints about this party from older penguins even though Club Penguin brought back two of the rarest items of all.

I don’t understand why Club Penguin had to choose red and blue. Especially since the party came back a second time. It should have been like the color party of November 2006 where green and purple were fighting. It would be pretty nice having another of color face paint. Then again, a lot of items in the past have come back in another color. Especially the nonmember items. Who couldn’t forget the latest “incident” of this: the return of the pirate shoes. Anyway, it wouldn’t hurt Club Penguin to be a little more creative. On the other hand, they did create a new item for nonmembers: the gold medal. This was in the group of items that had to be earned; that you had to work for, such as the scavenger hunts in the past. There were three events at this party. Gosh, I was surprised to see that the Night Club took a break from this party, for it had not been decorated at all. I do not remember a time where it hasn’t. Anyway, the three events are quite original, two of them are running events and one of them is a water event. I like how Club Penguin made each one with lighted knobs sticking out of the ground. The main reason is basically because they didn’t want penguins to cheat and go off track.

The marathon is a perfect example of that; there are a lot of twists and turns. I know they are hard to light up, but it is easy to get the hang of. The marathon is a nightmare if you have horrible internet connection, so it is basically the “most connected” who wins. It goes through almost every outdoor room, but other than the track, the decorations are awful. Sure, they just set up a few chairs and a couple of drink stations; I think it could have improved. By the time the penguin reaches the cove, the track is very sloppy. It narrows down, it curves a lot, and it is puzzling in a way. If I were them, I would have just disposed of the campfire for this party.

The second event is the 3 Lap Race. By far, this is the funniest one to watch. If there is a big group of penguins, many forty or fifty, it looks like one of those roller blade rinks from the 70’s. This event is pretty easy to finish; it does not require an advancement of internet connection like the last one, plus it is a lot more fun to race with buddies because you are perpendicular to each other at all times. One problem with this track is that it looks like a soggy old bath mat. I guess it is just Club Penguin’s “style” of creating a track, but I could be wrong.

The third and final event is kind of cheesy. I mean, its swimming, but it isn’t really swimming because penguins are just walking through water; it is like the pool isn’t even there. Plus it is just going is circles. I mean, swimming is fun in real life, but it doesn’t belong in a place like this. Don’t get me wrong though, I know Club Penguin was trying really hard to make it as realistic as possible for us, but this is just too upsetting. I really wouldn’t call it fun like the other races, but if you need to do it to get the medal, then go ahead and do it.

Once again, there was another new room added to the party; limited edition. This time the room is soccer and it is for members only. Club Penguin has gotten into a phase, and I am not saying that the phase is bad, but it is an improvement. Almost every party since the Medieval party in May has had a special room added on to it. Hopefully, this will continue to go on. I was surprised how many member rooms have been sprouting recently. One party back: there VIP room was a members only building. Nonmembers were left out on a limited edition item: the Penguin Band background, which became the first ever member background. The good thing about this party was that they eased off a bit, there wasn’t a free item this time. Hopefully, these party opportunities for members will disappear soon, or the nonmember population will fall back.

Music Party!

Hello everyone! This is Clonez of skydays147 .wordpress .com. Sorry it took a while to post, I felt I needed a little break after Summer School had ended for me! On Friday, the new Music Party 2008 had started, and it is… not that bad! I begin my review with a little flashback. In the pizza parlor, there is a truck that had collided through the wall. At first, I had thought it was a television… but it would not turn on to any channels. It took a while to realize that this machine was the one in penguin chat 3! The name is the Snow Cat, and it has been part of the long history of Club Penguin. It’s really weird, Club Penguin is bringing back a ton of old icons into the game. Seriously, why is the Snow Cat in the wall? It doesn’t go with the music theme at all! I swear at the next party there is going to be a giant cruise ship rammed through some wall. I would love to see that happen, as would everyone else. Anyway, it was really nice to see it again, ever since Penguin Chat 3 closed down.

The different music selections at the party were amazing. There was a choice for every music lover around, including rock, pop, classical, country, oldies rock, plus extra rooms that included open microphone, music video studio, and the Club Penguin band.

At the Dock, there will be a different genre feature every day. This is the only party in which it is updated this frequently. Also at the Dock, there is finally another member party! I am sorry to all of the nonmembers out there that do not get to go in, especially my friends; but members deserve this. I mean, I pay 30 dollars every six months to play Club Penguin and they just thanking us for our continuation of membership. Member parties are usually not the big anyway and they only occur at least once a year. If you wanted to know what it looks like, click here for a photo of the VIP room.

Rock Music is playing at the Ice Rink; Club Penguin call it “Boulder”, which is supposed to mean that it is the next level of Rock. The icon is of an orange electric guitar on a black background. Gosh, it is very easy to forget about it because we don’t usually visit the rink. I mean, nothing is ever there for parties. Well, once you walk it, there is a pretty large stage. The music is quite good; penguins can rock out or cheer in the stands on the left and right of the stage. The ice has melted and you can see the remaining water in the rink, and it was the first genre that was featured at the dock on Friday July 25th, 2008 and featured again on Wednesday July 30th, 2008 . It was such a blast, there was smoke being shot up from all the sides and penguins had a really fun time.

Pop Music is playing at the Beach. Club Penguin made it seem that Pop music was only meant for girls, but that is totally untrue. The genre’s icon is a pink puffle on the drum set and a pink flower by the microphone. The music in the room is pretty good, but the stage is just small and unnoticeable compared to the ones in the other rooms. Thankfully, on Saturday July 26th, 2008, the genre was featured at the dock and it was appreciated greatly. It was later featured again on Thursday July 31st, 2008.

An orchestra, or should I say, “Orca Straw” is playing at the Ski Village. This stage is different from the rest because of its semicircle background. There are musical instruments and stands set up. This is one of the more popular genres for some reason. The music is… okay, I wouldn’t say that it is the best choice for the party. The tour guide booth was moved over so that it is next to the Ski Hill. This is already the third time it has moved ever since it started in the Plaza. The orchestra will most likely be playing at the Dock on Tuesday July 29th, 2008. I can tell because in the newspaper, it is going down the list that is given.

Light Rock: My favorite room at the party. It is located at the Lighthouse. I love the music! You can just boogie down all night long there. I remember the first day of the party I played Bingo there with a group of penguins. It is just one of those rooms that is “Bingo related” and it brings back the old times. I think it is a great place to have fun once you get a couple of penguins to jam with you. You can press a red button on the back wall and confetti sprays up. There is a new secret hiding place that opened when that room was decorated. There is a large net hanging from the wall by the stairs, you can walk behind it, it is so much fun seeing all of the penguins trying to cram into that tiny little spot! This music genre will probably be playing at the Dock on Monday July 28th, 2008.

At the forest, there is Country music playing… it’s okay. The song is a little too repetitive because it is the verse over and over again. There are lots of penguins there and the stage is huge! The forest is a pretty popular place now that the party started. The icon is of three cacti; pretty obvious. The windmill is probably the best decoration in the room which is upsetting. Hopefully there will be better decorations when the genre is played at the Dock on Sunday July 27th, 2008.

The newspaper had stated that there is Easy Island music playing at the cove. To me, it is probably the most Easy Island music I have ever heard. You can barely hear it compared to the other music rooms. You will need to turn your speakers up loud enough in order to hear it. In general, the music isn’t the best choice for the party. I mean, most of us have been to the summer party of 08 a month before. It was at least five times better than this music. The icon for the Island music is a palm tree and rising sun. I am wondering why this music has not been featured at the dock.

Wow, the penguin band is such a classic! No wonder they were featured at this party at the Iceberg. Their music has been a huge part of Club Penguin; they have composed all of the songs for the igloos. They have been at many different gatherings such as the Lighthouse opening or the Saint Patrick’s Day party every year. This is probably their biggest performance yet. I am not sure whether or not they will be playing at the Dock, but their music might be heard on Thursday July 31st, 2008.

Overall Party Rating: ***

The new game is quite pointless. You only earn 0.35 coins per second. The name has no meaning; when I first looked at it I thought they were trying to spell the word DUCK with DJ3K. The buttons are kind of fun to press, I mean, they make awesome noises. But, it could get tiring after a few plays. To earn coins, it is very simple, but it takes up a lot of your time. All you have to do is make your penguin wave its hands in the air. It looks funny when he does it; it is as if his hands are shriveled. Anyway, one good way to do this is to press the button that has the number “6” over it, along with one other button. If you really do not want to put effort into games on Club Penguin, this one is right for you. You can just sit around for hours watching your penguin wave its hands around like a crazy person. Just make sure that you move the mouse around a bit or else there will be an automatic log-off.

Face The Music!

Hello everyone! This is Clonez, administrator of skydays147 .wordpress .com. Ever since the beginning of the month-no– ever since April last year, we have been anticipating for a music party! Music has grown up to become a large part of the Club Penguin world. There have been tons of musical instruments introduced, new ones include the harp and the pink guitar. There are stages at the dance club, lighthouse, pizza parlor, and the theater. Most recently, there are music stands and notes for our igloos! It was about time Club Penguin released a party commemorating all of this. From what I know, the Penguin Band will be playing at the Iceberg, there will be western music at the forest and according to the picture at the top, the night club will be totally redecorated with high-tech gadgets and almost everything you can imagine. Everyone can join in this celebration. Hopefully there will be a nonmember musical instrument released so that they can join in, or they can just shake around the maracas. Who knows! Maybe this party will turn out to be better than the ones in the past!

In the middle of the week, there have been a ton of updates to Club Penguin. I remember when I first logged on after Club Penguin was redesigned. The screen jumped right to the start page like a gunshot going off. The loading bars just zoomed by! By the time I reached the server, I was thinking to myself, “this isn’t even Club Penguin anymore!” It’s okay, people. It just takes some time to get used to. All of those thoughts about how awful the updates are will vanish. In fact, I think these updates are very helpful, especially the organization of the clothing. It used to take me over a minute to change my outfit, now I can do it in about 15 seconds if I know what I want to wear. Speaking of clothing, many of the outfits were redesigned. For my example, the hula skirt. Ever since I started, I remember the hula skirt getting redesigned twice. the first time it redesigned was on June 1st, 2007 and it is represented by the middle picture. The hula skirt was redesigned once more on July 14th, 2008 along with the other clothing items. It is a lot darker and shorter than the before images. Why does Club Penguin redesign? I think they are just too bored sometimes so they just doodle up clothing items in their free time.

Updates:

1. Puffle In the Ice Rink. The puffle has moved from the Dance Club to the Ice Rink in Club Penguin. Penguins are furious because it won’t let them play the game because it’s hogging the puck. It isn’t such a big deal, I mean, nobody really plays ice hockey that often, but Club Penguin is fixing the bug in order to let penguins play.

2. Penguin Mail. The invitation card in the old Club Penguin has transformed into the Penguin Mail service. I thought you would actually be able to write letters, but Club Penguin “stretched the truth” and just made it postcards. Unfortunately, Club Penguin removed the invitation postcards… but, all penguins have access to a free item, the mail bag, which does not do any special dances. Penguin mail is very useful if you want to send a card to someone who is online or off line.

3. Igloo Map. What an update. A map inside a map! You can access the newly upgraded (or downgraded in my mind) igloo map in the same exact place as before, but instead of names, there’s pictures of everyones igloo. It is more realistic, but it is harder to find who you are looking for on the map. Club Penguin has stated that they will re-update it to make it easier for use.

4. Login screen. Wow, they just threw out the separation by flags idea. There goes future Fourth Of July Parties! The new servers are, well, the exact same servers but in alphabetical order and five pages long. But, the homepage server was a brilliant idea. It gets me where I want to go and fast. The smiley faces have turned into green dashes that looks like books to me.

5. More Buddies. Yes, Club Penguin has finally added the more buddies feature. It is rumored that a penguin can now have 300 buddies on their list at once. I am not sure if this is a mistake or not, because on the “edit my penguin account” area, it is always: (number of buddies)/100; this must be some kind of a mistake. Anyway, penguins are adding as many buddies as possible. I have found that it takes a long time to fill up the extra space. Well, more friends can now come in the big circle!

These are only a few; there are plenty more updates to Club Penguin! Try and find them all!

Club Penguin has deleted most of the “swf” files that they have created. Unfortunately from this, I might have to delete the icon section from the sidebar. Hopefully, a new “swf” type of file will be found so that the page can continue.

Changes

Hello everyone! This is Clonez, administrator of skydays147.wordpress.com. As many of you know, Independence day is coming up and as always, Club Penguin will not have a party for it because it is an American holiday. I totally disagree with Club Penguin’s decision. They should definitely have a party, but only on the American servers. There would be fireworks, like always, maybe the dock or cove could be turned into a picnic area with blankets set out and the iceberg could be where the fireworks are launched. It would be nice if the whole island were turned dark just like the Halloween party. It shouldn’t be something gigantic, but something to make us remember our identity. We don’t really need a free item, because everyone could just dress in red, white, and blue clothing. Here is last years party, not official; but look at that spirit: it is priceless!. To make it even, they should have an independence day party for the Canadian and British servers. For example, Canada Day is on July 1st, so there should be a party for that only on Canadian servers. I don’t see any problem with that, because all of the nations are getting what they want. If you have read the newspaper, you may have seen the picture of the fireworks. They look a lot more festive this year! It reminds me of the design used in the A Little Better commercial. Well, thats my opinion. There is a very good chance that Club Penguin will have a more attractive fireworks design than at the past parties.

It’s crud because it’s all bad. -connora.wordpress.com

I totally agree Connora. Rockhopper came on Friday leaving penguins upset with what he had brought this time: three item bring-backs and two item color-changes. It’s pretty awful. The new items are upsetting. They are getting to be a lot darker. For boys, the coat came back in a dull, gray color and for girls, the pirate dress turned out to be such a mess-up. As you can see in the image to the right, the pirate dress has gotten more detailed as Rockhopper visited. The first dress was plain and simple; just like an official Club Penguin item. The second one was baffling: it had a black rip in the side, which was quite pointless. The third dress; well, it looks like something the devil would wear. It has turned totally Gothic and I am guessing that Club Penguin was trying to make it look different from the ones that came in the past and they did a horrible job at it. Rockhopper’s items are definitely getting darker. Other than the items, the four rooms of the ship have been added temporarily again. The newspaper stated that G had installed a snow cannon 3000. Apparently, it looks exactly the same as it did when it was revealed in April.

There has been another problem on Frozen that occurred a few days before Friday. A couple of penguins have been seen in clumps at the dock and yelling at so called “bots” that say that they can hack clothing items onto penguins without even going on them. The problem is that penguins are falling for this nonsense. To accomplish something like that would be like getting into the hackers hall of fame. It’s impossible. Please do not get pulled into this garbage that the “bots” are promising. Hopefully they will go away soon. If you see one of them, report them immediately.

P.S. I made an image on paint. I was thinking about what other multiplayer worlds would be like with different animals instead of penguins. Here is my idea for Club Panda:

In other news I will not be Bigmokey2 anymore. I will be my rare penguin Mr Pie42. The only reason I’m changing penguins is because (as you know) Bigmokey2’s name changed. And because more of my friends that are nice are one his buddy list.

Kick Off Summer Right!

Hello everyone! This is Clonez, administrator of skydays147.wordpress.com. What better way is there to start off the summer than an awesome water party? Of course, Club Penguin was not as creative with this one, because it was a bring-back, but the party turned out to be a great success among the newcomers. I have an urge to talk about the yellow inflatable duck. Yes, we all know it was brought back. I remember at last years party, everyone was talking about how it was going to come back, and it never did. When all of the penguins realized it turned green, nobody wore it. For some reason, I remember reading some other penguin’s wordpress on what looks good with the green duck. It was kind of weird, you know? Because, lets face it, it was so ugly back then. Now all you see old penguins wear at this party is the green duck. It is just going to continue switching back and forth. This sort of relates to the story with the red and blue propeller caps. Okay, now the main attraction for this week: the Water Party. The main difference in this water party is that penguins are able to go to the underground. Well, that didn’t turn out to be a good thing. Club Penguin went way over their heads on the crab cracking the glass story, it’s not that big of a deal.. They included a pictorial, a demonstration, and even made a movie about it! I like it when Club Penguin gives its history, but I think that the whole story with the crab was exaggerated. Please don’t assume that the party is all that bad. There were some very mentionable decorations. Just like at the Medieval Party, the Water Party included a special room; this one dedicated to an inflatable whale. This was an improvement on last years “tiny” whale at the iceberg. Also, just like the last two summer parties, this one included the inflatable octopus in the Dojo. The octopus was and still is a well-loved addition to the parties that penguins have repeatedly asked to bring back. Personally, I think the octopus is okay. I am upset that Club Penguin removed the gap in between the octopus. You used to be able to walk into it and it looked like your head was sticking out of it. I have no clue why I like that. Probably one of the best rooms at this party is the dock. The castle, even though it was brought back, was been a favorite of mine. It is funny to watch penguins fight over who is going to be king or queen; whatever status. Especially on popular servers: the fun never ends. Now, I have a question to ask all of the readers. What is the point of that green hose that keeps following us from room to room? It is located in the bottom right corner of the screen, and it doesn’t seem to do much. I mean, all you can do is spray penguins, but it is not visible from their point of view. Whatever it is, I still this it was pointless for Club Penguin to add it in.

Overall Party Rating: ***

Who could forget about the new play that came out today? Okay, I have to say that this one is quite good. The set is impressive, the costumes: even more impressive. Especially the togas: leopard and zebra. It really does not matter; they could be either gender, although the costume trunk seems to separate the girls from the boys one. I remember a week ago when the clothing catalog came out. There was this one item: the sarong, which looked so much like one of the togas. It was fun pretending to be “Tarzan”, even though the clothing item was meant for girls. Also in the costume catalog, the Tiki masks. Just like the togas, Club Penguin separated them by gender, although you could wear either one. It is fun to wear them, I liked to try and scare penguins with them of course because they are so scary in a way. Okay, more about the play. The only problem is the script. Yeah, it is good, but it does not really catch on. It’s funny to see all of the messed up words that Club Penguin put together.
