Music Party!

Hello everyone! This is Clonez of skydays147 .wordpress .com. Sorry it took a while to post, I felt I needed a little break after Summer School had ended for me! On Friday, the new Music Party 2008 had started, and it is… not that bad! I begin my review with a little flashback. In the pizza parlor, there is a truck that had collided through the wall. At first, I had thought it was a television… but it would not turn on to any channels. It took a while to realize that this machine was the one in penguin chat 3! The name is the Snow Cat, and it has been part of the long history of Club Penguin. It’s really weird, Club Penguin is bringing back a ton of old icons into the game. Seriously, why is the Snow Cat in the wall? It doesn’t go with the music theme at all! I swear at the next party there is going to be a giant cruise ship rammed through some wall. I would love to see that happen, as would everyone else. Anyway, it was really nice to see it again, ever since Penguin Chat 3 closed down.

The different music selections at the party were amazing. There was a choice for every music lover around, including rock, pop, classical, country, oldies rock, plus extra rooms that included open microphone, music video studio, and the Club Penguin band.

At the Dock, there will be a different genre feature every day. This is the only party in which it is updated this frequently. Also at the Dock, there is finally another member party! I am sorry to all of the nonmembers out there that do not get to go in, especially my friends; but members deserve this. I mean, I pay 30 dollars every six months to play Club Penguin and they just thanking us for our continuation of membership. Member parties are usually not the big anyway and they only occur at least once a year. If you wanted to know what it looks like, click here for a photo of the VIP room.

Rock Music is playing at the Ice Rink; Club Penguin call it “Boulder”, which is supposed to mean that it is the next level of Rock. The icon is of an orange electric guitar on a black background. Gosh, it is very easy to forget about it because we don’t usually visit the rink. I mean, nothing is ever there for parties. Well, once you walk it, there is a pretty large stage. The music is quite good; penguins can rock out or cheer in the stands on the left and right of the stage. The ice has melted and you can see the remaining water in the rink, and it was the first genre that was featured at the dock on Friday July 25th, 2008 and featured again on Wednesday July 30th, 2008 . It was such a blast, there was smoke being shot up from all the sides and penguins had a really fun time.

Pop Music is playing at the Beach. Club Penguin made it seem that Pop music was only meant for girls, but that is totally untrue. The genre’s icon is a pink puffle on the drum set and a pink flower by the microphone. The music in the room is pretty good, but the stage is just small and unnoticeable compared to the ones in the other rooms. Thankfully, on Saturday July 26th, 2008, the genre was featured at the dock and it was appreciated greatly. It was later featured again on Thursday July 31st, 2008.

An orchestra, or should I say, “Orca Straw” is playing at the Ski Village. This stage is different from the rest because of its semicircle background. There are musical instruments and stands set up. This is one of the more popular genres for some reason. The music is… okay, I wouldn’t say that it is the best choice for the party. The tour guide booth was moved over so that it is next to the Ski Hill. This is already the third time it has moved ever since it started in the Plaza. The orchestra will most likely be playing at the Dock on Tuesday July 29th, 2008. I can tell because in the newspaper, it is going down the list that is given.

Light Rock: My favorite room at the party. It is located at the Lighthouse. I love the music! You can just boogie down all night long there. I remember the first day of the party I played Bingo there with a group of penguins. It is just one of those rooms that is “Bingo related” and it brings back the old times. I think it is a great place to have fun once you get a couple of penguins to jam with you. You can press a red button on the back wall and confetti sprays up. There is a new secret hiding place that opened when that room was decorated. There is a large net hanging from the wall by the stairs, you can walk behind it, it is so much fun seeing all of the penguins trying to cram into that tiny little spot! This music genre will probably be playing at the Dock on Monday July 28th, 2008.

At the forest, there is Country music playing… it’s okay. The song is a little too repetitive because it is the verse over and over again. There are lots of penguins there and the stage is huge! The forest is a pretty popular place now that the party started. The icon is of three cacti; pretty obvious. The windmill is probably the best decoration in the room which is upsetting. Hopefully there will be better decorations when the genre is played at the Dock on Sunday July 27th, 2008.

The newspaper had stated that there is Easy Island music playing at the cove. To me, it is probably the most Easy Island music I have ever heard. You can barely hear it compared to the other music rooms. You will need to turn your speakers up loud enough in order to hear it. In general, the music isn’t the best choice for the party. I mean, most of us have been to the summer party of 08 a month before. It was at least five times better than this music. The icon for the Island music is a palm tree and rising sun. I am wondering why this music has not been featured at the dock.

Wow, the penguin band is such a classic! No wonder they were featured at this party at the Iceberg. Their music has been a huge part of Club Penguin; they have composed all of the songs for the igloos. They have been at many different gatherings such as the Lighthouse opening or the Saint Patrick’s Day party every year. This is probably their biggest performance yet. I am not sure whether or not they will be playing at the Dock, but their music might be heard on Thursday July 31st, 2008.

Overall Party Rating: ***

The new game is quite pointless. You only earn 0.35 coins per second. The name has no meaning; when I first looked at it I thought they were trying to spell the word DUCK with DJ3K. The buttons are kind of fun to press, I mean, they make awesome noises. But, it could get tiring after a few plays. To earn coins, it is very simple, but it takes up a lot of your time. All you have to do is make your penguin wave its hands in the air. It looks funny when he does it; it is as if his hands are shriveled. Anyway, one good way to do this is to press the button that has the number “6” over it, along with one other button. If you really do not want to put effort into games on Club Penguin, this one is right for you. You can just sit around for hours watching your penguin wave its hands around like a crazy person. Just make sure that you move the mouse around a bit or else there will be an automatic log-off.

Face The Music!

Hello everyone! This is Clonez, administrator of skydays147 .wordpress .com. Ever since the beginning of the month-no– ever since April last year, we have been anticipating for a music party! Music has grown up to become a large part of the Club Penguin world. There have been tons of musical instruments introduced, new ones include the harp and the pink guitar. There are stages at the dance club, lighthouse, pizza parlor, and the theater. Most recently, there are music stands and notes for our igloos! It was about time Club Penguin released a party commemorating all of this. From what I know, the Penguin Band will be playing at the Iceberg, there will be western music at the forest and according to the picture at the top, the night club will be totally redecorated with high-tech gadgets and almost everything you can imagine. Everyone can join in this celebration. Hopefully there will be a nonmember musical instrument released so that they can join in, or they can just shake around the maracas. Who knows! Maybe this party will turn out to be better than the ones in the past!

In the middle of the week, there have been a ton of updates to Club Penguin. I remember when I first logged on after Club Penguin was redesigned. The screen jumped right to the start page like a gunshot going off. The loading bars just zoomed by! By the time I reached the server, I was thinking to myself, “this isn’t even Club Penguin anymore!” It’s okay, people. It just takes some time to get used to. All of those thoughts about how awful the updates are will vanish. In fact, I think these updates are very helpful, especially the organization of the clothing. It used to take me over a minute to change my outfit, now I can do it in about 15 seconds if I know what I want to wear. Speaking of clothing, many of the outfits were redesigned. For my example, the hula skirt. Ever since I started, I remember the hula skirt getting redesigned twice. the first time it redesigned was on June 1st, 2007 and it is represented by the middle picture. The hula skirt was redesigned once more on July 14th, 2008 along with the other clothing items. It is a lot darker and shorter than the before images. Why does Club Penguin redesign? I think they are just too bored sometimes so they just doodle up clothing items in their free time.

Updates:

1. Puffle In the Ice Rink. The puffle has moved from the Dance Club to the Ice Rink in Club Penguin. Penguins are furious because it won’t let them play the game because it’s hogging the puck. It isn’t such a big deal, I mean, nobody really plays ice hockey that often, but Club Penguin is fixing the bug in order to let penguins play.

2. Penguin Mail. The invitation card in the old Club Penguin has transformed into the Penguin Mail service. I thought you would actually be able to write letters, but Club Penguin “stretched the truth” and just made it postcards. Unfortunately, Club Penguin removed the invitation postcards… but, all penguins have access to a free item, the mail bag, which does not do any special dances. Penguin mail is very useful if you want to send a card to someone who is online or off line.

3. Igloo Map. What an update. A map inside a map! You can access the newly upgraded (or downgraded in my mind) igloo map in the same exact place as before, but instead of names, there’s pictures of everyones igloo. It is more realistic, but it is harder to find who you are looking for on the map. Club Penguin has stated that they will re-update it to make it easier for use.

4. Login screen. Wow, they just threw out the separation by flags idea. There goes future Fourth Of July Parties! The new servers are, well, the exact same servers but in alphabetical order and five pages long. But, the homepage server was a brilliant idea. It gets me where I want to go and fast. The smiley faces have turned into green dashes that looks like books to me.

5. More Buddies. Yes, Club Penguin has finally added the more buddies feature. It is rumored that a penguin can now have 300 buddies on their list at once. I am not sure if this is a mistake or not, because on the “edit my penguin account” area, it is always: (number of buddies)/100; this must be some kind of a mistake. Anyway, penguins are adding as many buddies as possible. I have found that it takes a long time to fill up the extra space. Well, more friends can now come in the big circle!

These are only a few; there are plenty more updates to Club Penguin! Try and find them all!

Club Penguin has deleted most of the “swf” files that they have created. Unfortunately from this, I might have to delete the icon section from the sidebar. Hopefully, a new “swf” type of file will be found so that the page can continue.

Clonez’ Comment: Yes, I agree. The new game is quite upsetting compared to the rest. I do not even think it fits in with the storyline if Rockhopper is getting his ship back or not. Yeah, it is sad that new players don’t know where the iceberg is. Maybe it is because they don’t read the newspaper because they always remind penguins that its “there”. The game is challenging, I guess. But the fact that it is one level really ruins the fun. The game is not really a coin earner. In fact, it earns the least amount of coins than any other game!

This week’s newspaper featured a strange question about the 8 buoys in Club Penguin. And I found the 8 buoys around Club Penguin.
